I’m going to BlogHer, where I’m going to meet you, you and you and … You?
BlogHer is a blogging conference for women bloggers featuring educational classes, workshops, seminars and offering an amazing opportunity to meet other bloggers, network and socialize.
I can’t even tell how excited about this trip I am, especially after reading the BlogHer Agenda and really seeing who is going to be there and what topics are going to be covered.
The conference is in San Francisco in July in The Westin St. Francis Hotel.
The Westin St. Francis is located in the heart of San Francisco’s Union Square, right on the cable car line. The hotel is one of the city’s oldest buildings, offering both old-world charm and modern luxuries.
You can book the hotel through BlogHer – The Westin St. Francis offered a special price of 199$/night for BlogHer attendees, including free wi-fi (normally 15$/ night). While 199$ in this luxurious hotel is a great deal, many bloggers asked for the possibility to share a room with another blogger to save some money.
The hotel offered a few rooms with double occupancy for BlogHer attendees, but they are already sold out for the special fare of 199$ per night for double occupancy. If you want to share a room with your blogger-friend, you will have to try to book your Westin St. Francis room else where. The normal price for a two bed room is 369$, and if you split it with a friend, and pay the extra 15$ for wi-fi, you pretty much don’t save money at all.
I’m paying only 123$ per night for my room
I found an amazing deal on the hotel at Starwood Hotels:
“Stay two nights in San Francisco and your third night is on us when you reserve our special California Weekend offer! Simply arrive on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday for a 3-night stay and one night is free!”
Was I lucky or what? I’m sharing the room with a friend, and we ended up saving over 160$ each, even if we still have to pay extra for the wi-fi.
If you are planing on attending BlogHer, I’d suggest making your hotel reservation already now. The rooms with cheaper prices are bound to run out, and I don’t know how long Starwood Hotels or any other site is offering deals like this.
And while you are at it, here are a few travel sites, where you can also find hotel deals and make your flight reservations.

I will miss all the fun. I will be back east w/ the family. I always stay at The Westin at Christmas, it should be fun. I am back in time to see anyone that is still in SF on Sunday

HI everyone. great idea to post these deals!
Still, I wanted to let you and others know that the hotel swears this is a mistake and that they do have more double-double rooms available and that they’re working to fix the system so both the online database and phone-in reservation folks have the right info to help people.
Obviously we’re breathing down their necks and very upset about the mistake. Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.
I have to say thanks to you and everyone else who blogs when these things happen, because that’s how we find out that there are problems!

Wow! That’s a great deal! I can’t make it to Blogher this year so I’ll be going to Blog Friends Fest instead.
