I was very excited to attend an event in New York City hosted by Nate Berkus (you know, the cute designer Oprah made famous) to celebrate his new show launch. The Nate Berkus Show will premiere on September 13th. The show is co-produced by Harpo Prods. and Sony Pictures TV, and I am very impressed by it already. Nate’s show will be airing throughout 95% of the country, including all of the NBC owned and operated stations, and it is already very talked about even before it’s launch.
Nate Berkus got known for his eye for design on Oprah show, and while most would assume the show would be only about home decorating and design, sounds like it is going to be so much more.
By Nate’s own words: “To have the opportunity to sit with her and share her story, in her own words, is why I wanted to do my show – so viewers can see not only who people are, but who they aspire to be.”
The Nate Berkus Show will be sharing stories from real women, stories that inspire and move us. Nate was telling us how he always found himself in the kitchen with the ladies of the family during large family gatherings, and how fascinated by women’s stories he was. He aspires to share the stories from several women for us to hear.
During the first week, The Nate Berkus Show will have Elizabeth Edwards as a guest. Elizabeth Edwards will open up about her marriage with John Edwards (and about the sex scandal). She also opens the doors to her home furnishings business Red Window and tells how focusing on design has helped her to move on after the difficult times in her life.
