Instagram Travel Thursday is a way to connect travel bloggers on Instagram with each others, with travelers and with the travel industry. During the past few months we have generated hundreds of blog posts, over 100 travel bloggers have been involved, and we have together generated over 2000 photos on Instagram using our #IGtravelThursday hashtag.

Every week an average of 35 bloggers are posting about Instagram travel in their blogs and it has been a wonderful way to get to know travelers who enjoy using Instagram. I say it’s enough of this virtual love affair – let’s take this to next level and meet up! We are currently planning two IG Travel Thursday meetups in Europe, and hopefully we can plan one in the USA soon as well.
IG Travel Thursday Meetups in Europe
Note: these meetups don’t actually happen on a Thursday, regardless our project name and the blog post linky day.
OCTOBER: DUBLIN
Our first meetup will be on October 3rd in Dublin, Ireland during the TBEX conference.
We wanted to organize a meet up outside the conference program times but due everyone’s travel times and the amazing program at the conference we decided just to meet on Thursday, on the first day of the conference and have lunch together at the conference. Comment in the post if you are interested in joining us.
NOVEMBER: STOCKHOLM
Our second meetup will be in Stockholm, Sweden, on November 9th as a small part of
Stockholm Travel Massive event. We are still planning the event(s) and negotiating with possible sponsors for this a bit larger event, where also Finnish travel bloggers are traveling to Sweden for the meetup. Stay tuned for details.

Instagram Travel Thursday is a grassroots project more than anything and we are always looking for new IG Travel Thursday linky hosts in new languages/regions. Same goes with the meetups – let us know if you are interested in co-hosting an Instagram Travel Thursday meetup with bloggers in your area and to get more people involved. Also travel destinations are welcome to connect with us to recommend and/or sponsor meetups in your location.
