My Helsinki: Xmas Garage for Christmas Gift Shopping

My family and my close friends know that my dream is to open a Christmas market in a barn somewhere in the country side, maybe like the ones we saw in Sweden. My best friend from high school, Pauliina, has made a Christmas shop a reality, and it’s beyond dreamy! Instead of country side, Pauliina’s Christmas market is on the best shopping street of the entire country (Aleksanterinkatu in Helsinki, Finland), and the gift selection is far from cutesy crafts.

Let me introduce you Xmas Garage.

Pauliina own’s Helsinki’s hottest fashion shop My o My where you get your Kenzo fix, and much needed color pop. For the last four years, Pauliina has also hosted Xmas Garage, the most stylish Holiday pop up shop in town, and last couple of summers also Summer Garage popped up to offer Scandinavian design, quirky gifts, locally produced souvenirs and more. This year’s Xmas Garage is my favorite of the ones I’ve seen. Still plenty of minimal Scandinavian design, high quality accessories, home goods and gifts, but also oh so much color, weird curiosities, fun Christmas ornaments, and galore of books. Come and see it yourself – and let Alex Alex be your host!
