Menswear has been gaining much momentum in the American fashion industry. However, many of these brands do not have the budget to have runway presentations to showcase their collections during New York Fashion Week. The PROJECT show, part of MAGIC MARKET WEEK, offers American brands a platform to showcase to retailers and the press.
PROJECT is curated by president Tommy Fazio who formerly held position with Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, and Simon Spurr. This year, both THE TENTS @ PROJECT and PROJECT MVMNT will be debuting on February 19th. THE TENTS @ PROJECT brings together the most prestigious brands, retailers, and press outlets. Small, yet very influential brands such as Michael Bastian, Todd Synder, Billy Reid, and Ian Velardi will be returning to show case collections. PROJECT MVMNT, directed by Kenny Marc, will focus on the growing prevalence of modern youth culture in the fashion industry. “PROJECT MVMNT is taking an entirely new approach to showcasing youth culture,” said Mac. It will feature up-and-coming brands and designers bringing together unique trendsetters within skate and street, featuring their fresh take on fashion.
About PROJECT: Held bi-annually in New York and Las Vegas, PROJECT is a contemporary fashion trade event, encompassing PROJECT, THE TENTS @ PROJECT, PROJECT MVMNT, and PROJECT MENSWEAR. The event creates a place where innovation, commerce, and service converge.
