Most parents know about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), and how to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome.
Quick Tips on Reducing the risk of SIDS:
1. Put baby to sleep on back.
2. Avoid loose blankets and too much bedding.
3. No smoking close to baby.
4. Breasfeed your baby and take good care of your baby, starting from a healthy pregnancy.

SIDS is a syndrome for babies under one year old, and what many parents might not know, there is also SUDC, a horrible cousin of SIDS.
SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood) is the sudden and unexpected death of a child over the age of one year old. SUDC is very rare, with a reported incidences in the United States of 1.3 deaths per 100,000 children (compare to 57 deaths per 100,000 for SIDS), and it is not as researched and well-known as SIDS.
SUDC is Rosie’s Reason
This girl here is Rosie, she is a happy 7 year old girl from Colorado and she and Monkey-Toes, a Colorado based children’s shoe company, joined their forces to support the SUDC Program and raise awareness for SUDC. The SUDC Program is part of the CJ Foundation for SIDS-a national health organization leading the fight against SIDS and SUDC.
