Professional background
I’ve been working at Finnish Broadcasting Company, YLE TV1, more than 10 years. I’m specialized in documentary production. My other passion is fashion. I have studied both, dress making and journalism, and today I’m happy to combine them both in my everyday life.
Location
I’m from Finland and currently I’m living in the capital of Finland, in Helsinki. I love to travel and every time I have the change I travel to explore the world. When I was studying I spent one semester as an exchange student in Aarau, Switzerland. I spent Fall 2012 in New York City, and learned to know better the city of my dreams.

What do you love about where you live now?
Helsinki is a very beautiful city with it’s many attractions. Helsinki is located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, by the Baltic Sea, and you can really feel the sea nearby. We have many lovely market places and parks in the middle of the city and an excellent shopping possibilities. Finnish design is highly rated and appreciated around the world and from Helsinki you can find some amazing designer pieces from our own designers. Finnish fashion has become very popular as well and I have to say I’m extremely proud of our young designers!
Your best Skimbaco moment?
Taking a job alternation leave is one of my Skimbaco moments in life. I had the courage to step out from work for 8 months and during that time I was able to do all the things I have ever wanted. Spending the last fall in New York working as a fashion writer for Skimbaco Lifestyle was the cherry on the top. I really loved every moment of it!
Your ideal travel destination?
I have always loved New York and it really has a special place in my heart. I’ve had the best time of my life in New York, Paris, Bangkok and Colombo (Sri Lanka) so I guess I’m a city girl. The bigger and more vibrant the city is I just feel more relaxed and more comfortable there.
What’s your favorite restaurant and why?
My favorite restaurant in Helsinki is
Farang. I like their modern Southeast Asian cuisine and the restaurants Asian interior with the Scandinavian twist. I love spicy vegetarian cuisine where I can still taste all the different flavors and the freshness of the vegetables and spices.
What does your ideal home look like?
My ideal home is a penthouse loft in an old factory in the middle of the city. I love the city lights and I could spent hours and hours just to watch the constantly moving and vibrant city from the window.
How do you define Skimbaco Lifestyle? What it means personally to you?
If your life is not fulfilling, do something about it!
What do you dream of?
I’m dreaming of to find a new path to walk in life. I would love to be part of a fashion world and get new challenges career-wise from that field. I would love to spend more time in New York as well. Life is too short to spend it wondering “what if..”
