As promised…. Here are some pictures from Marimekko’s Holiday 2009 Catalogue. All of the products haven’t come out yet, but here is a peek to this year’s modern Scandinavian table settings the Marimekko way.
Koreana fabric by Sanna Paananen
Taikamylly fabric by Sanna Annukka
Lumimarja fabric by Erja Hirvi
The fabrics are just stunning, there are so many good ones to choose from. Just making a table cloth or hanging one of these fabrics on the wall would bring the Holiday season in to any modern home.
One of my favorites is the Lumimarja print, the print is available in red, red and white and more neutral tone – as in the gift tin on the bottom of the picture, and also as white and red, like in the tea towel on the bottom left. Sanna Annukka’s Taikamylly fabric got new colors for the Holiday season – I absolutely love the color combination of the reds and green, reminds me of my childhood Christmases in Finland.
The Maribowl in black is festive and I would match that with the white Lumimarja (snow berry) fabric for contrast or with white Ananas (pineapple) fabric – like the stocking.
There are so many great gift ideas at Marimekko’s Holiday collection this year, that I don’t even know where to start. The tea towels and the trays have always been my favorites, and the new ones this year don’t disappoint. The Hevonen (horse) tea towel and the Kanteleen Kutsu tray are pictured.
