Gracious Me: Are you Living Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

Gracious Me, gracious lifestyle column by etiquette Expert Mindy Lockard
It’s said that our perspective on life can be compared to that of a half-poured glass… half empty or half full. The glass we choose is up to us, as is what we put in it. Today, I’m thinking… Hey this is the web… it’s five o’clock somewhere! No, matter where we are in life. We can choose to see it as this… “I sure wish…” “Would be nice…” “Well, aren’t they lucky…” Our other option? We can choose to see life like this… “I’m so thankful…” “The upside is…” “Things always work out…”
As Mahatma Gandhi said, “A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes.” Sometimes we don’t think about just how powerful our minds really are. Our mind really is the number one tool to enjoying a gracious life. If we see life as empty, we will be empty. If we see life as a journey, full of opportunity– even if the opportunity isn’t ideal–we will have endless opportunities. Although it’s not always easy… what do you do to keep a Half Full perspective? , , , ,

  1. I’m loving all of the feedback. I agree, Yakini, that there is ALWAYS a silver lining. Sometimes we just have to look harder to find it. And yes, Mel, I agree… about the wine glass! Thank you for your comments and thoughts.

  2. I love this positive way of thinking. I tell my friend and clients all the time that life is about choices – and you can choose to approach the world in a negative, pessimistic way…. or you can try to find that silver lining. There is always one!!!

    Great post!
