Refreshing Gin and Tonic from Four Seasons Orlando

Our goal for Skimbaco Lifestyle this summer is to bring an element of our travels into your home. We can dream a little about places to go.  Last month, Katja shared a Strawberry Chrysanthemum Elixir from the Umstead Hotel and Spa, which is my five-star neighborhood hotel in Raleigh. One of my favorite drinks is a simple gin and tonic. I think they are wonderful on my screened porch on a hot, Southern day.  The Four Seasons Orlando, which is on my list to visit at some point, shared with me its recipe for the Capa Gin & Tonic. Capa is the resort hotel’s signature Spanish-influenced restaurant on its rooftop.  The Capa Bar serves signature cocktails with an amazing view. I’ve now decided that I want to sit on this balcony with a Capa Gin and Tonic, and enjoy this view of Magic Kingdom. Four Seasons Orlando Recipe for Capa Gin & Tonic 2oz Caorunn Gin 1 btl Tonic Apple, juniper, key lime, flower, sage Directions: Put 1 Ice sphere in Red Wine Glass. Add Gin. Using tweezers add garnishes (grab flowers by the pistol and rest them in the gin like a lily pad). When serving place the glass in front of guest and pour entire contents of the tonic btl into the glass. Garnish:
  • 1 Red Apple Slices
  • 3 juniper berries
  • 1 Key Lime
  • 1 Raspberry
  • 1 Fennel Frond
  • 3 microflower marigolds
The Four Seasons Orlando honestly has me dreaming of Disney World again. The lakeside 26-acre (10.5 hectare) resort, heralded as a “kids’ paradise,” offers amenities and activities for all ages to enjoy even the adults. The Experience More – Resort Credit package at Four Seasons Orlando offers a daily resort credit for guests to maximize their on-property experience. For a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort in perfect balance, guests can enjoy the Disney parks along with the many on-site recreational activities at Four Seasons. Parents can enjoy a break while children ages 4-12 are invited to spend just a few hours, or the whole day, at Kids For All Seasons, a complimentary kids camp open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Four Seasons Orlando Hmm, hello. Did you say Kid’s Club? I’ll be right there as quick as you can say, “check-in”. If you can’t get there this year, you can at least make yourself a Capa Gin & Tonic, and dream a little.
