If you are an audiophile, you are probably familiar with the iconic, luxury Danish brand, Bang & Olufsen who celebrated the grand opening of their new retail concept on Madison Avenue in New York City on April 16th. The celebration, hosted by CEO Tue Mantoni and President of Bang & Olufsen America, Kathy Thornton-Bias, included members of the media and brand enthusiasts.
The new location at 600 Madison Avenue is the first store to utilize the new retail concept which will be incorporated into other stores across North America in the coming year. The store is absolutely beautiful and does a great job at incorporating Danish design aesthetics while show casing the signature Bang & Olufsen products. The new concept is centered around three zones to evoke the senses and offer customers a way to truly experience and engage with the product.
The new store concept features a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere, and the interior has been designed to captivate curiosity as you move through the store. This store concept will provide the perfect platform to interact and engage in the Bang & Olufsen universe of magical experiences.”states Kathy Thornton-Bias, President of Bang & Olufsen America, Inc. The retail concept is centered around a speaker wall that contains all the best-selling speakers. After the ribbon cutting, the seemingly bare wall turned around to reveal all the speakers, and then poof! They were gone. It is a very interesting concept that allows customers to select the speaker they are interested in, reveal it, and then stream their own content from their smartphones to check out the sound. The other zones include a dedicated B&O Play area where customers can interact with the more mobile lifestyle segment including their signature headphones, and a private area that represents the hallmark of Bang & Olufsen technology with the latest flatscreen technology and surround sound. It was a luxurious evening as guests sipped champagne and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres will enjoying the beautiful store. The new B&O Play BEOPLAY A9 invited guests into the store with their elegant design on display in the windows while Aston Martins featuring B&O sound systems attracted attention on the street outside the store. The store was officially opened with a ribbon cutting by Mr Mantoni. Photos: Wes Holland I dream of being a business leader in the fashion world.
