Finnish designer Stefan Lindfors’ Matilda stool has won the prestigious, international 2010 GOOD DESIGNAward among 500 products from total of 36 different countries. The GOOD DESIGN Award was founded in Chicago in 1950 by architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr. and the award is conferred annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. The GOOD DESIGN Award is the oldest design award in the world and it advances high-quality, visionary design and innovative product concepts.

Some of his previous awards include receiving the Väinö Tanner Trailblazer Award, the foremost cultural award in the Nordic countries in 1992, and the New York Times declared his sculpture façade for the Gershwin Hotel a new landmark in Manhattan in 2001.
