Family Emergency

My phone was ringing as I was sitting on my seat minutes before takeoff on my flight to Detroit, on my way to Asheville to speak at the Type-A Mom Conference. It was 5:30AM and the call was coming from Finland, and I had missed a call from the same number already earlier. I sense something is wrong, and take the call. My mind is racing, hoping I still would have time to hop off the plane if there was a family emergency and I am needed. I answer and hear a familiar voice on the other end. I know I’m going to be shut down by the flight attendant soon and need to know immediately what this urgency is about. “Is everything OK, is this an emergency?” “Yes” sighs the voice on the other end. “I need your help.” My heart is racing and I am unbuckling my seatbelt thinking I might have to get out of this plane right now to jump on another one to save a loved one in Finland. “I accidentally deleted my Facebook fan page. Can you help me to get it back?” she continues.

Whew, close call! Thankfully, no changing of flights needed. Facebook had problems all over the place yesterday and not for a super short interval either.

Our internet was out for a day, one day this week and I felt her pain!
    Couldn’t get on FaceBook!

So Glad it wasn’t anything more serious!

  3. Just like you, I was preparing for bad news as I read this. My heart was sinking and I was hoping for you that everything would be OK.

Facebook page? Really? Lol…that is just a hilarious scenario!
