I got to meet Brooke Elliot the star of Drop Dead Diva last summer.
I am a huge fan of Lifetime’s TV show Drop Dead Diva, it’s my favorite show on Lifetime in addition to Project Runway. Lifetime just announced that the third season of Drop Dead Diva will premiere Sunday, June 19, 2011, at 9pm ET/PT and the season 3 will be packed with celebrity guest stars.
If you don’t know what Drop Dead Diva is about, it’s about a shallow wannabe model who dies in a sudden accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, plus-size and recently deceased attorney, Jane. Jane’s life and the looks have entirely changed, and she has completely changed as well in the process. I think Drop Dead Diva is a great reflection on our time, and how beauty obsessed we are, but how the inner beauty is always more beautiful than the outer. Jane may have gained a few pounds, but she certainly has become more beautiful as a person as she has gone through her life in her new skin. Drop Dead Diva’s star is Brooke Elliott (Wicked, Taboo) as Jane and the cast includes Margaret Cho (Dancing with the Stars, Notorious C.H.O.), Jackson Hurst (Living Proof), Kate Levering (Cashmere Mafia), April Bowlby (Two and a Half Men), Josh Stamberg (Lie to Me) and Ben Feldman (The Perfect Man). In addition to this cast, the Drop Dead Diva Season 3 will be packed with celebrity guest stars!
Drop Dead Diva’s Celebrity Packed Season 3
Drop Dead Diva’s Season 3 premiere will feature Paula Abdul (Live to Dance) in her role as Jane’s voice of reason to give her some sage advice about her relationship with Grayson. LeAnn Rimes will also guest stars as the estranged soon-to-be ex-wife to a hard-partying celebrity who is on trial for a hit-and-run case that Jane takes on. Additionally, the premiere episode will guest star talk-show host Wendy Williams, Mario Lopez and features a musical dream sequence with the cast of Drop Dead Diva, choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance’ Keith “Tyce” Diorio.
Some of the other celebrity guest stars this season include Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes, Clay Aiken, Lance Bass, Amanda Bearse, Tony Goldwyn, Howard Hesseman, Sharon Lawrence, Faith Prince, Jennifer Tilly, Louis Van Amstel and many more. I am pretty excited to also see Patti Stanger, the Millionaire Matchmaker in the list of celebrity guests.
