Often on Fridays I send out a newsletter (subscribe it here, next Friday I will be giving a free copy of my ebook in my newsletter, great time to sign up).
With newsletter I aim to inspire people to make their dreams to reality and I share the ways I have been able to accomplish something small (or big), or how we can find inspiration from around us. Last week I shared one of the biggest mistakes I did when starting my company, because I would have liked to know not to do it, before I did it!
Today I am not sending out a newsletter, but I am writing this post instead to encourage you to think if you are ready when the opportunity knocks.
Usually when we make big life plans, things don’t happen fast, quite the contrary, they happen often painfully slow. You have to build up, save up, educate yourself, train yourself, practice a little more, and scratch plan A and move to plan B. But sometimes life drops you unexpected opportunities and possibilities, and you have to act fast, or you will miss it.
I was reminded by this by a fun Heineken “Dropped” campaign, where they drop people in different locations in the world and they are given a task to finish. Like this photographer from South Africa who was dropped in Poland and given a mission to put together a circus group and perform in Berlin. Watch the video below.
No, I am not asking if are you ready to put together a real circus performance, or to be literally dropped from an airplane, but if I think back to my life, I’ve had several equally crazy (to me) opportunities in life, and the only ones I regret are the ones I didn’t take (only if my parents had let me move to Japan when I was 15 when Eileen Ford herself asked me). And my life has been altered by the opportunities I did take.
